Hello and welcome – I’m happy to be back with you today, we are sharing more of the charm that is our front porch. I’m also joining my friend, Krista (The Happy Housie) as she hosts the Seasonal Simplicity – Fall Series tour. I’m really excited to be blog-hopping with this group of talented bloggers who are also sharing their Fall porch tours! YAY, give me all of the inspirational Fall Porches!
Our Fall Porch
Our porch is all ready for Fall and it’s such a great space to watch the leaves changing while drinking our morning coffee.
The little vintage potting bench is a wonderful place to snatch up and gather all the late blooming flowers together – we love and use this space SO much.
You can see more of the whole Fall porch tour, here – today I am sharing how Bud and I enjoy a picnic on the porch.
We’ve been busy getting our whole property ready for the changing season, cutting wood and burning brush you know, “glamorous” yard work, basically. We still have so much work to do before the “W” word hits us, in the mean time we pause in the evenings to take it all in with a simple picnic.
At the end of our porch, where you see all of the trees lit up with sun, this is where the sun sets for the day. Bud and I love to sit and watch the sun setting as much as we love to watch it rising, thankfully with a little turn of our seats that’s all possible right here.
One of our favourite activities, besides drinking coffee and watching the sunset, is eating our dinner out here. We are very fly-by-the seat of our pants type of people and some nights when supper is ready it’s a simple question, “Wanna eat on the front porch?” – it’s usually a YES!
Picnic time
For us, spending time outside and watching the sun setting on another full day really gives us pause – slows things down. We have the chance to really soak this all in, appreciate where we are, enjoy the company and of course have a yummy dins! This is a truly grounding activity for us. We aren’t fancy really, a very simple tablescape, maybe a tablecloth – lighting candles with some foraged fall foliage, it really makes this little spot special for us. Really though, we are here for the show that mother nature puts on – like a dinner theater, except way better – thrilled to have front row seats!
The ambiance of burning brush from a property clean-up creates such a cool atmosphere.
The gorgeous light starts to stretch across the property.
The beautiful light changes so fast here… my favourite is when there is a small wind and the light starts to “dance” in the shadows as the leaves move with the breeze.
And finally – payoff!
And finally, payoff! When the sun starts to put on a show… it’s usually just quiet reflection, watching as the light paints the sky and the treetops!
The colour at he top of the willow isn’t because of changing leaves… as the sun sets on the day it casts such a warm glow onto the treetops – it’s always a show stopper. SIGH! If you follow us on Instagram you’ve seen this willow in our stories – and you’ve seen it during ALL of the seasons, we simply LOVE this tree! I’d love it if you’d join me over on Instagram, pop in and say hello – we love to share pretty pictures and some fun behind the scenes stuff! xo
Thank you for taking the time to visit us here at Vinyet, I hope you’ve enjoyed our ever evolving porch ready for our Fall picnic – this is our favourite place to appreciate our hard work and of course enjoy nature’s light show. 🙂

Thank you so much, Collette – I love to hear that the photos translate into the actual feeling that we have while sitting here! YAY! Isn’t that a fun gingham tablecloth? I love the colour! I bought that at Walmart, they have a fun new (to me) collection by, The Pioneer Woman, she has a lot of awesome home decor products! I am in love with her dishes too. 🙂 I hope you can find one where you are.
