How in the heck do you make a wall cozy? đ That’s a bit rhetorical but… basically, I think you treat a wall or, gallery wall like you would any area or surface when you are going for a cozy look, I’m going to be chatting about what I did to make this corner cozy. But first…

Cozy Gallery Wall – how I approach it
This sweet image is a photo of Bud’s Uncle, Billy. He passed away at a very early age, sadly and he inspired this whole corner. xo
- Take it personally: Use photos or things that are personal to you and your family! This is actually a gallery corner (if you’re feeling technical)… and this gallery corner predominately features Bud’s family (my Hubby). Saving and displaying family photos (in this case for loved ones that are no longer with us), is one of the ways we like to keep them near. We love to have our favourite photos displayed and if you are like us you too have SOOO many family photos (obviously we can’t display ALL of them), be selective and put the extra special ones where you can appreciate them, it truly is a way to keep them within your thoughts!
2. Add texture(s): Gallery walls (corners) are a very new thing for me, but vignettes are not… haha. I LOVE to vignette (it’s an obsession basically), so I very simply considered this corner as a way to vignette on the wall – whoop whoop, I love a challenge. I love to add cozy to any vignette and one of my favourite ways to do that is by adding texture. Feathers, jute and leather, string… I also find anything wooden to be warm and so very textured.
3. Tell a story: The things you hang or display don’t actually have to tell THE story… but they should at least spark interest, have meaning and be something that will start some conversations.
4. Display unique things in unique ways: While out thrifting I came across the round brass goodie you see hanging – it kind of looks like a drain and that was what was on the tag, “brass drain”. But I think it’s actually a flower frog and was miss-identified. I knew as soon as I held it, it was going on the gallery wall. Have a look at your decor and think of it in different ways, upside down, hanging, laying flat etc. Just because it’s “supposed” to be a certain way… reimagine it!Â
5. Add life: This might not be obvious but I ADORE plants!!!! I even love the little fakers! Not ashamed at all! This corner is actually a very dark corner in our home, real plants do not like it here, so I use fakers. Plants add life, they also tick off the texture checkbox.Â
6. Have fun – play, do what makes you happy! Hanging things on your walls, it’s not a forever thing, if you don’t want it to be. If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Bud doesn’t LOVE the holes I make in all the walls, basically because I change all of the things all of the time (almost a compulsion) tends to make holes. But, I’ve shared a little trick I use, you can go see that “trick” here —> Instagram  , hint I’m sharing something that helps make the holes appear smaller! đ Shhhh, don’t tell Bud the holes are actually still there!Â
This little corner is not “done”… if I’m going to be honest, nothing I ever do is “done”, I’m always tweaking and rearranging and puttering…
7. And finally, never forget, perfection does NOT exist! Do what makes you smile, something that makes you feel cozy and happy and enjoy, throw the thoughts of perfection out the window!Â
I’m hoping that you find our corner gallery wall cozy, I know we sure do! We’re completely loving it actually! Thank you so much for stopping in – hugs and warm thoughts, especially if you are within that Arctic vortex the world seems to be caught in, YIKES! You are always a boat load of information with such great tips, and all the eye candy is the cherry on top. Love your IG feed and your cozy ideas!
I think one of the things I love best about your work is that itâs so super cozy, warm and inviting but still has a crisp, clean feel. Youâre rocking that. J
Thank you my friend, you are the kindest! <3 xo PS I love your avatar, adorable! hahaha
Laurie, sometimes I wish I could crawl inside your head and see what makes it tick. Seriously – you are so creative and your home has the touch of an artist. Love the brushes hanging on the wall with the pictures – and then there’s the doorknob with feathers! So unique and I love it all! And that lamp makes my heart skip a beat.
Awww my friend what an incredibly kind thing to say! It’s so hard for me to describe what I do with words… it’s such a flow when I start to putter all feeling, I’m just very grateful that there are others that get me and find any inspiration with my puttering. xo
Laurie, I just adore the collected look of this! And I especially love the depth and texture you brought in with each piece, it all comes together to look so carefully and beautifully curated. You always inspire with your beautiful treasures and the amazing photos you capture of them all!
Awww, thank you my friend, you are so sweet! xo
Okay, this might be my favorite gallery wall ever! I love all of the vintage and antique finds. It’s so pretty, Laurie!
Laurie, love how you effortlessly mix vintage finds, photos, and plants for the most lovely cozy feeling. I love the photos of Bud’s family. I laughed when you said nothing is “done” there, I have to agree nothing is “done” here either. Always moving and shifting decor over here.
Great tips! I love it all! You’ve inspired me to go dig through some vintage family photos that are stored away! I really want to get them out of storage and on display somewhere! And, that Baker’s rack is dreamy! I’ve been on the lookout for one!!!
Another stunning display! I think, the thing I love most about how/what you create is that I can see your beautiful heart in everything you do. I’m sure, even those you aren’t blessed to know you personally, can see it. XO
Awww, Barb that is such a beautiful thing to say to me, thank you so so much!!! I love you dearly! xo
* even those WHO aren’t blessed to know you…..
