Happy New Year, Friends! I hope your holiday season has been amazing so far!? Our pre-season was very hectic while we were getting ready for our Vintage Christmas Market in the barn, I’m so happy and grateful to say it was an amazing market. After all of the hustle and bustle with getting all of the things ready, we knew we wanted a cozy living and simplified holiday season.
Cozy Living
The Cozy Living team, a group of cozy loving friends that simply adore sharing how we live a hygge lifestyle. Our blog hop is hosted by my friend, Jennifer over at Town & Country Living. There are so many inspiring and creative ways to live a cozy life and this team has all of the inspiring ideas. Please stick around until the end of my post, you will find more from my CL friends, they will also be sharing wonderful ideas for January.
A Cozy Holiday Season
This my friends is how our cozy living holiday turned out. Sometimes for me, cozy means simplified, take this vignette for example. I created a gallery for Christmas, but to me this can stay for the winter season too. The layers of warm wood with natural elements, the patina and texture are instant cozy in my option and are perfect all season long.
Winterberries are a little sweet pop of colour and add nature with cozy texture.
Natural elements, neutral colours all give a calming and cozy feeling.
Cozy Nostalgia
Our little glass deer is a special holiday tradition every year, he belonged to my Mom and was very precious to her too. He is from Germany and it always reminded my Mom of a story she told me frequently. When I was very young she took me to see Bambi in theatres, it was the first time ever that I was going to see a movie, Mom said she realized her error when Bambi’s mom was killed. 🙁 I may have punctuated that realization when I started screaming and didn’t stop until she carried me out of the theatre, yikes! To this day I am still very adverse to those very sad movie moments, so heart breaking.
This was Bambi’s vignette last year, you can see more from that tour here. He comes out every Christmas and doesn’t get stored away again until signs of Spring are popping.
Cozy and Vintage
Time worn vintage with a story is my jam. When I saw this this pew shelf in the thrift store, I knew it had to come home with me. I debated on sanding it, but I love the story the little carvings tell. The patina and tone is perfect and cozy as-is.
Old mirrors are another way I love to add cozy vintage touches to our home. The ones with imperfections are my favourites! Adding cozy with textures, layers and old glass, surrounding yourself with things you love makes your house feel like home.
Bonne Année 2022 – Happy New Year 2022! I hope this coming year is all you need it to be! xo
Thank you so much for joining me today, now please won’t you go have a peek at the CL-team’s cozy ideas for January.

Hi Dawn! Happy New Year! I did not make that paper ornament, that was an ikea find this year. I LOVE it too, I was drawn to it immediately. I would LOVE to learn how to make paper ornaments like this, I may have to put that on my to do list for this year. xo
Bambi was my first movie too – and yes, I was also traumatized when Bambi’s mom was killed. Why would anyone put that in a kid’s movie? Love all your vignettes – yes to worn wood and vintage mirrors!
HI Jennifer, Happy New Year! xo You know Disney does that a lot and I just don’t get it… it’s so sad. Thank you, amen to vintage worn wood and mirrors! xo
