August, say what??? Holy smokes, I just can’t believe how fast summer is whizzing on by! I’m finding it very tricky to actually sit at my desk and write posts lately! Beautiful summer days… it’s just hard to stay inside! Anyone with me on that? I’m NOT complaining at all, it’s a wonderful “problem” to have. That is just my way to let you know that this post will be photo heavy for this August cozy post, hope that’s cool? 😉

Cozy Layering
I love layering within my vignettes… to my eye things just become more interesting and of course cozy, even during the summer!
Things that are worn and have heavy crazing are some of my favourite things!
The neutral mini-crocks have the most interestingly hidden markings too… I LOVE this and usually can NOT resist bringing them home!
Layering in textures is also one of my go-to ways to vignette. I love using different shapes, textures and unexpected treasures to create interesting levels.
I just couldn’t resist these bread boards framed (and contrasted nicely) with a lovely round ikea placemat – works for me!
I’m loving the copper and ironstone food molds together too…
A view (or two) I couldn’t help sharing.
My amber bottle collection (some of it) hasn’t traveled too far… I’ve layered them in on our very large bow-window sill, this vignette really paled in comparison though to the gorgeous layers that are happening right outside of our windows! This is our happy and peaceful place!
Thank you so much for popping in for a read, I truly appreciate your visits!
Do you layer when you are creating vignettes? I’d love to hear more!

Just visiting, but i love your vignettes and that wonderful view what a wonderful place to sit, have a great weekend.
Thank you so much Marlene! You have a great weekend too! xo
Oh wow!! What a gorgeous view outside your window! I always love your vignettes, Laurie – and that green bottle!!! Makes me want to go to our flea market this weekend – there’s a bottle vendor who always has the most interesting glass bottles both colored and clear. He can tell you the story of each one and I could listen to him forever. He does a lot of scavenging to find the bottles. I think you’d be the perfect person to go to the flea market with. Too bad you don’t live closer!!
I would LOVE to go picking with you! And I would also love to visit your gorgeous pond! xo
Girl I think you need to start a blog about layering and vignettes you are the queen of it. They always look so inviting and interesting. Love 🙂
I don’t think anyone can layer and create vignettes quite like you. You always have something beautiful to share and each photo has something interesting that catches my eye. It’s total inspiration! That bay window view is beautiful, by the way. Your home is a sight for sore eyes, friend.
