Rare vintage, unused cardboard medicine box (early 1900’s)  – Bol Lecznik Liniment – Universal Laboratories CHICAGO

There is just something so otherworldly about vintage medicine boxes, a time gone by when everything just seemed way cooler back then!  The graphics on this vintage medicine box are crisp and bright, the logo is detailed and wonderful. This is a fantastic piece of  early Americana, a liniment medicine way before federal medical approvals were ever a thing.  Days when companies produced and peddled medicines that were not controlled and had little restrictions.  I mean just look at some of these ingredients.

 “PREPARED BY Universal Laboratories CHICAGO – BOL LECZNIK”, “ALCOHOL 41%, ETHER 96 M. TO 1 OZ.”, “CHLOROFORM 72 M. TO 1 OZ.”.

Body Condition:  This is a rarer earlier example, estimated to be from the turn of the century.  This box has always been stored folded-flat, it and will be shipped as such.  It is in excellent condition for an ephemera piece of this age.  It shows some fading on one side, the other side is still very bright and the original bright pink colour.
