Vignette fun ~ Christmas tour 2013

SantaVignette-ChristmasTour2013 | Vinyet Etc.

Hi there, Santa! I just loved this image and thanks to the generosity of, Karen AKA The Graphics Fariy and her free printables I was able to make this cute Santa Vignette, he is always watching so you better be good! 😉 You can find this awesome printable here, explore her web site, there is something for everyone!

I would like to warn you this post will be very photo heavy… some of you have asked what we are doing for Christmas this year in our new home. So I’ve decided to take you on a little tour of how Christmas has turned out this year.

I got to wondering why I haven’t done a post sooner than now dedicated to vignettes? Seeing as the name of the blog is actually  ‘Vin’yet Etc’… I guess I was blogging about the Etc part of my obsessions. Seriously though, I know why I haven’t done a post on the vignettes in my own home… I’m a person who likes to have things perfect… I know, right?  There ain’t no such thing as perfect! So I know that perfect  isn’t going to happen and I guess you guys should know that perfect doesn’t happen around here either, we’ve lived here for 4 months now and the project list is growing faster than a teenager. I’ve decided to jump in with both feet and do a little Christmas vignette sharing anyway.

I know I  can trust all of you to imagine that there isn’t trim missing, that the beautiful trim I have designed is all installed and painted perfectly? I can trust that you won’t notice the holes in the gyprock where those dreaded logs were… more on those hideous logs here! And, I know I can trust you all to imagine a gorgeous mantel on our fireplace and all of our walls painted in beautiful warm colours! 😉 Having said all of that, welcome to our  simple version of Christmas.

What a beautiful, beautiful home you have! It’s like it was built with winter (and Christmas) in mind.

Thank-you so much! We are pretty please with how our first Christmas turned out… I must admit, I am anxious ref the spring gardens, I’m afraid I will be in a bit of a mess, winter and Christmas may end up being my favorite time. Baby steps! 😉

I love your style and beautiful displaying of fun, quirky vintage stuff however I wish your photos were larger and not in the collage… tough for these old eyes to see. maybe I need to ck a little further to see if you have a photo album… thanks

Hi Verna! Well thanks for the lovely compliment, I will keep that in mind about the photos going forward. But, if you click on the photos can’t you see them larger? I can on my PC.

Laurie, I love these glimpses into Christmas at your new house. That tree in the barn door took my breath away! I love the snow shoe display and that they belonged to your grandmother. How wonderful that you have them. Love the star made from the fold up measuring contraption, and that long, narrow table with the cabinet with doors is just wonderful. How inviting the room looks with the tree beside that pretty stone fireplace. laurie
